The Many Variations of Chandler Corian® Counters
Corian® is a unique, solid-surface material that is popular for countertops in Arizona and throughout the country. Corian® countertops are durable and resistant. They are non-porous, so you don’t have to worry about the spills and messes common to the kitchen and bathroom that spread mold or bacteria on the surface. They are also resistant to most damage, so Corian® countertop repair and refinishing typically consists of just sanding or buffing the surface.
Corian® countertops are also very flexible in their design, and they offer many variations to suit your needs and your style preferences. Here are a few of the variations you can consider:
Color
Corian® is a solid surface material, which means that the color goes all the way through the countertop, not just the coating. Because Corian is manufactured, it can also take on nearly any color. Corian® countertops currently come in more than 130 colors, but new options are always being added. You can easily find a color that will suit your decor preferences.
Size
Corian® comes in a variety of sizes to meet your needs. A standard sheet is a half-inch thick and is 30 inches by 144 inches. A half sheet is also a half-inch thick and is 30 inches by 72 inches. A strip is a half-inch thick and is 4.8 inches by 144 inches.
A few colors are available in one-quarter and three-quarter inch thicknesses. Some are also available in sheets that are 36.6 inches wide.
Forms
Corian® countertops can be shaped with a variety of techniques. For example, you can route it to add a beveled edge or a decorative engraving. Corian® can also be carved into unique shapes or with unique designs on the surface. You can also sandblast Corian® to create a unique finish.
Whatever design options you choose, the final countertop will be seamless to create a cohesive look and to minimize the spread of dirt and bacteria.
Custom Options
Because Corian® is so formable, you can do a lot of special things with it. For example, you can even backlight the countertop to create a beautiful glow. You can also get a countertop and backsplash unit in one. The countertop will join with the backsplash seamlessly, creating a beautiful look and also minimizing maintenance.
With Corian®, you have far more options to get the look and functionality you want for your countertops. These countertops will also last a long time if you care for them properly.
